The Secret of God, the Universe, and Life - cover

The Secret of God, the Universe, and Life is a short, easy to read work of fiction.

However, it does touch on many areas of science and religion and some readers have asked for links that they can follow to learn or understand more about the world and the people who live on this planet.  We offer the following as starting points for those who are interested.

Some of the links are to Wikipedia pages. While one cannot always vouch for the veracity of the information in Wikipedia there are often links to other sites where the topics are treated with more rigour. Please note as well that, while we try to keep these links current sometimes there will be a link to a site that is no longer available. We’d appreciate it if you let us know of any such links.

The story includes references to many proven and some yet to be proven scientific theories. Where possible we have linked to sites with the simplest explanations.

For more information on the Big Bang theory you may start your search here http://www.big-bang-theory.com/ or here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang

For Dark matter look here http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/science/know_l1/dark_matter.html

In the book some of the characters travel through other Dimensions. For information on the existence of other dimensions start here http://www.tenthdimension.com/medialinks.php or here http://www.superstringtheory.com/experm/exper5.html

We also note that one of the objectives of the Supercollider at CERN in Europe is to prove (or disprove) the existence of other dimensions.

String theory is a topic that is closely tied to the CERN project and research on other dimensions, Branes and dark matter. Try these sites  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory and http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/

Some readers may wish to note that the Great spirit in the story is the result of the combined intelligence of many beings. For more on Collective Intelligence look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_intelligence

There are other quasi-scientific topics touched on in the story. These include;

The God gene http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101041025/

and Near death experiences http://www.near-death.com/ or http://www.near-death .com/experiences/evidence01.html

We note that there is real research being done on near death experiences. There are many documented cases and there is now work being done to find a physiological or psychological explanation.

Adolph Chandler’s solution to the middle east problem is not that original and is similar to U. N. Resolution 181 http://www.mideastweb.org/181.htm or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN_Partition_Plan

For more information on the Book of Revelation try a Bible, or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_Revelation or http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/apocalypse/revelation/white.html The following topics are also included in the Book of Revelation:

While the novel does not cast a vote for or against any theories on intelligent design the work of the Great spirit and its own evolution could be considered to be intelligent design theory in action. http://www.actionbioscience.org/evolution/nhmag.html
